Wrought iron restoration projects can be very sensitive and time consuming. Graney Metal Design has done many restorations of existing ornamental ironwork. These projects could be just repainting or a complete restoration. A complete refurbish would mean replacing missing pieces and repairing existing ones. We are frequently called upon to reproduce elements which are missing or beyond repair. Attached are photos of some restoration jobs we have done.
The original balcony was built sometime in the 1700's in England. It was dismantled and moved to Long Island where it was reassembled as the balcony over the entrance at Old Westbury Garden. We were contracted to restore and recreate the balcony. It had to be dismantled and taken back...

These 19Th century lanterns were in desperate need of restoration. The lanterns consist of forged iron components that were mechanically assembled. The project consisted of the restoration to 7 lanterns in 3 different sizes. All elements were first disassembled and sand blasted. Hand forged reproduction parts were furnished as needed....
This light fixture was a restoration job, which consisted of repairing and rewiring for electricity. We also fabricated a table base for the clients kitchen to match this design which had a glass top, as seen above.
