French Style Balcony

French Style Balcony
South Hampton (Suffolk County)
New York

We fabricated this railing to match the interior stair rail.  The only difference is the color and that there is not brass details.  The inspiration for this railing was the clients former classmate's home outside of Paris.  French style scroll work with 2 1/2" stainless steel post for anchoring to the structure for stability.  Waterproofing was applied around the posts to create a flawless barrier.  The material was steel hot forged into the scrolls then welded into the frame.  The railing was sand blasted then a marine grade epoxy primer was applied, the top coat was a metallic urethane.  More extreme environment conditions prompted the marine grade primer and the specific urethane we used on this particular job.  The home is located by the shore so the paint was also uv resistant.  This picture was only 1 balcony of 4 that we fabricated at this home.  As seen above, exterior rail view.
